William Verreault completed his Undergraduate and Master's degree in Mathematics at Université Laval, receiving over twenty scholarships and honors and participating in research experiences that resulted in conference presentations worldwide and over a dozen papers in diverse areas of mathematics. These allowed him to collaborate with several bright students and experienced professors who shared their passion for mathematics with him and who taught him that mathematicians are more than just researchers.
He has subsequently worked hard on promoting mathematics education and creating more opportunities for his peers, by sitting on different academic and outreach committees, on the Board of the Canadian Mathematical Society and as Chair of its Student Committee, for example, and by organizing varied student activities. He now looks forward to the next step on his journey to becoming a mathematician: his PhD in mathematics.
Congratulations William!
