University of Toronto’s President’s Impact Award

We are excited to annouunce that Kumar Murty has been awarded the University of Toronto’s President’s Impact Award for his contributions to the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table.

The Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table was a vital source of evidence-based analysis informing Ontario’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A uniquely collaborative and multisectoral body initially hosted by the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, the Science Table brought together interdisciplinary expertise to analyze and interpret emerging COVID-19 research and data to support a rapid response to urgent pandemic decisions. Thirteen University of Toronto faculty members, played instrumental leadership roles, while many more contributed their expertise and time to Science Table working groups, modelling and scientific briefs.

2023 CMS Jeffery-Williams Prize

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce Dr. Kumar Murty as recipient of the 2023 CMS Jeffery-Williams Prize for his contributions to mathematical research. Dr. Murty will receive his prize and give a lecture in Ottawa, Ontario at the 2023 CMS Summer meeting in June.
