The Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce that Jeremy Quastel has been named to the 2025 Class of Fellows of the Canadian Mathematical Society. The Fellowship recognizes CMS members who have made excellent contributions to mathematical research, teaching, or exposition, as well as distinguished themselves in service to Canada’s mathematical community.
The 2025 Class of Fellows includes seven members from the Canadian mathematical community:
- Dr. Adam Clay (University of Manitoba)
- Dr. Douglas Farenick (University of Regina)
- Dr. Stephen Kirkland (University of Manitoba)
- Dr. Rahim Moosa (University of Waterloo)
- Dr. Jeremy Quastel (University of Toronto)
- Dr. Renate Scheidler (University of Calgary)
- Dr. Jie Xiao (Memorial University)
Induction to the CMS Class of Fellows is based on nominations, receipt of the David Borwein Distinguished Career Award or the Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service, or receipt of any other CMS prize or award for outstanding contributions to research, education, exposition, or service to the Society. It also recognizes those who have served the CMS as a Vice-President, a standing committee chair, or Editor-in-Chief of the CMS’ Canadian Mathematical Bulletin or Canadian Journal of Mathematics.
