Daniel Litt named to the 2026 Class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society

The Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce that Daniel Litt has been named to the 2026 Class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society (AMS). The Fellows are selected annually by the mathematical society to honour outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, and utilization of mathematics.

Litt obtained his BA in Mathematics at Harvard University, before completing his PhD in Mathematics at Stanford University. His first position was at Columbia University, where he was an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow. He then became a Member at the Institute for Advanced Study, and later an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia. He is the recipient of a Sloan Fellowship, an Ontario Early Researcher Award, and the Cathleen Synge Morawetz Prize from the Canadian Mathematical Society.
