Celebrating Excellence in Teaching: 2025 Department of Mathematics Teaching Awards

The Department of Mathematics is proud to announce the exceptional contributions of our instructors and teaching assistants through this year’s departmental teaching awards. These honours celebrate individuals who have gone above and beyond in fostering student learning, demonstrating instructional excellence, and upholding the highest standards of educational engagement. Each award is named in memory of an individual who made a lasting impact on the department and reflects the values they embodied—dedication, mentorship, and a passion for teaching.

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Department of Mathematics teaching awards:

F. V. Atkinson Teaching Award for Postdoctoral Fellows

This award celebrates outstanding teaching by postdoctoral fellows and junior research faculty not on the tenure track. Named in memory of former Chair Frederick V. Atkinson—respected mathematician and beloved mentor—this award acknowledges instructors who demonstrate excellence in teaching and have made a meaningful impact in the classroom.
