Biography

Tristan Collins joined the mathematics faculty as Associate Professor in September 2023. Collins earned his B.Sc at the University of British Columbia in 2009, after which he completed his Ph.D at Columbia University in 2014 under the direction of Duong H. Phong. Subsequently, he had a four year appointment as a Benjamin Peirce Assistant Professor at Harvard University, followed by an Assistant Professorship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Collins’ research concerns problems at the intersection of geometric analysis, partial differential equations and algebraic geometry.  Collins received the 2018 Sloan Research Fellowship; and in 2021, the André Aisenstadt Prize in Mathematics.
