Science Literacy Week

Each year, the Department of Mathematics hosts a STEM conference for youth.

• From their website: "Science Literacy Week is a coast to coast celebration encompassing over 100 such institutions from nearly 50 cities. It is a forum for all these great organizations to showcase the amazing work they do year round. Whether it’s in highlighting great books, hands on demonstrations, talks by great scientists or so much more, my hope is that you’ll learn a lot and have a great time in the process."

Science Rendezvous

Each year the department has a pavilion at the U of T site of this event filled with fun, hands-on math activities and is a chance to learn about the great math research going on here at the University.

• From their website: "Science Rendezvous is an annual festival that takes science out of the lab and onto the street! We work with Canada’s top research institutes to present a coast-to-coast open house and festival that is free for everyone. With over 300 events across 30 cities and 1000’s of mind-blowing activities, Science Rendezvous is Canada’s largest celebration of the amazing feats of science and engineering happening right here at home.

The Toronto Math Circles

The Toronto Math Circles is a weekly gathering for students with an interest in mathematics and specifically mathematics problem solving. Students gather once a week, on Saturday’s, at the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences. Read our article on Math Circles
